Our short term goal is to launch BLUEsat, preferably before 2010.
Our long term objectives:
- Provide an enhanced undergraduate experience at UNSW by:
- Bringing together students from multiple faculties, encouraging them to share and apply the knowledge/concepts learnt in their degrees to achieve shared goals.
- Enabling students to gain hands-on experience on the engineering process.
- Aiding student career development through both exposure to industry and providing experience in all facets of commercial engineering projects.

- Progressive improvement of our capabilities towards meeting and exceeding the world standards of space engineering and scientific institutions, in the context of our economic, social, and environmental performance as well as available resources.
- Further enhancing the international image and reputation of UNSW by engaging in productive, mutually beneficial cooperation and networking with national and international research, scientific, educational, developmental, and corporate institutions.
- Making meaningful contributions to the resources & capability of humanity to explore and develop space through a range of means, including:
- Developing future professionals and leaders with a strong foundation in the space industry.
- Building a pool of knowledge about space operations and the space environment. Cooperating and sharing knowledge with other space-related research, corporate, scientific, developmental and educational organizations.
- Creating public awareness and interest in the space industry. Working with space-related corporations.
- Developing the infrastructure, information network, administrative capabilities, and operational experience needed for space operations.
